"A British Columbia urologist will pay $150,000 plus legal costs to a developmentally disabled man castrated at his mother's request. Just after his 21st birthday A.R., who can't be identified by court order, underwent a bilateral orchidectomy at Nanaimo General Hospital. His mother, Sandra Crockett, has been frank about why she wanted the operation. She did not want her son, who has the mental capacity of a four-year-old, to father a child. She said he was becoming sexually aggressive, once caught rubbing against his young niece."
