Reality TV to lose its cherry

At long last, a reality-based TV program based on the real threat of violent anal sodomy. The BBC intends to re-create an unsuccesful prison experiment from the 1970's: "Just 36 hours into the experiment, one prisoner was released after suffering an emotional breakdown. By day four, the guards were turning the prisoners against one another, ordering them to perform hours of calisthenics, clean toilets with their bare hands and spend nights in solitary confinement for failing to eat day-old sausages."

What is an unlawful combatant?

"According to Defense Secretary Rumsfeld, the Taliban and al Qaeda fighters currently being held captive at the United States Naval Base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, are not prisoners of war, but "unlawful combatants." What's the difference? The short answer is that a prisoner of war is entitled to the protections set forth in the 1949 Geneva Convention. In contrast, an unlawful combatant is a fighter who does not play by the accepted rules of war, and therefore does not qualify for the Convention's protections."
