Man self amputates penis in religious frenzy
Manila Times | Submitted by: Crippen
A badly misinformed man in the Philippines, apparently after reading Matthew 18:8's admonishion, "If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away." Sadly, this man has removed his own penis in order to secure his entry into heaven. Unfortunately, he was not aware of Deuteronomy 23:1, "He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD." Oopsie.

In 1993, Aum representatives sought a meeting with then-Russian Energy Minister Viktor Mikhailov for the express purpose of discussing the purchase of a nuclear warhead. (The meeting was denied.)"

How did this idiot ever get confirmed as Attorney General?

Los Angeles Times | Submitted by: Soylent
Everyone knows the United States had broken the Japanese military codes and effectively used them as a weapon against them. But now it's been discovered that Japan had been listening to our diplomatic codes before they even brought the U.S. into the war: "While researching secret codes used prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor 60 years ago, the young Japanese American professor stumbled upon a document, declassified by the CIA about five years ago, that proved that Tokyo had succeeded in breaking the U.S. and British diplomatic codes."
