Wiccans urged to be careful with fire
Hartford Courant | Submitted by: LadyC
Witches like to play with fire in their sundry rituals. What is often neglected is that witches and their accoutrements are flammable, and subject to the same laws of combustion as everyone else. "The most recent incident happened Saturday, when two Wiccans accidentally set fire to Mary Palmieri's house while conducting a 'cleansing ritual', Fire Marshal Paul Censki said Wednesday."

Explosive diarrhea does not fool kids
Charleston Daily Mail | Submitted by: Soylent
Apparently there are still marketers who think that a clever message such as "Let's talk about explosive diarrhea for a moment" will fool children into not trying drugs. People use drugs because, well, they're fun. Such tactics may work against a fifth-grader but not someone in high school.

Moscow Times | Submitted by: Soylent
It seems somewhat alarmist, but we all know this is exactly what is happening now: "The rulers will often act in secret; for reasons of national security, the people will not be permitted to know what goes on in their name. Actions once unthinkable will be accepted as routine: government by executive fiat, the murder of enemies selected by the leader, undeclared war, torture, mass detentions without charge, the looting of the national treasury, the creation of huge new security structures targeted at the populace. In time, this will seem 'normal', as the chill of autumn feels normal when summer is gone."

Twenty-three gay Egyptians were sentenced to various terms for "sexual immorality" with regards to their behavior during a bacchanal on the Queen Boat anchored in the Nile. These 23 found guilty were part of the "Cairo 52", but if you read the earlier second story not all of them were even on the boat at the time.

Nuke plans found in Bin Laden hideout
Times | Submitted by: Soylent
"Attempts had been made to burn the evidence, but many documents still remained. They included studies into the development of a kinetic energy supergun capable of firing chemical or nuclear warheads, external propulsion missiles, preliminary research on the creation of a thermonuclear device, as well as a multitude of instructions for making smaller bombs."
